how to take a vertical pan photo across a small lake ©johncameron.ca

This image was shot on an overcast, late December day. The muted colours of the grasses, and the deciduous and coniferous trees caught my eye.A long lens was used to reach across to the far side of a small lake.

I decided to try a slow shutter speed combined with a steady upward ‘pan’ (see technical info below).

Technical: Canon EOS 1D X , ISO 160, 1/50sec, f/5.6, 300mm lens with 1.4x extender (420mm total)
