Downhill longboarding on Saltspring Island is not restricted to summer (see Panning).
These hardy racers also brave winter conditions (including gravel and salt on the pavement…and visors that fog up).
Getting the camera to an eye view of the racers, using a long, sharp lens and setting the lens to a shallow focus (in this example f/4) adds impact to the images. A high shutter speed freezes in motion.
