This is Cameron doing his “tough guard dog, working in the rain” thing in his middle years. Small, but indeed a tough, big dog on the inside. He went everywhere with us; a great mountain hiker, camper, and truck companion.
Below left, his first day with us and one ear still down. We gave him an empty yogurt container —which was about his size–and he chased it around the deck for a long, long time. Below right, his grown-up look with both ears up.
I don’t remember this day and don’t remember seeing him this clean, but I am pretty sure he must just arrived home from a stint at the groomer.
I recognize that look. And since I’m the one who plunked him onto that big rock on a great smelling, low tide beach just to take a silly photo…it’s probably time for me to tell him, “Take it!” (the treat in front of his left paw).
