I walked down to Timber Beach in the Cordova Bay area of Saanich yesterday afternoon. The wind was building some large waves.
In the photo above, a wave had broken over the bottom half of the stairs to the beach.The next wave (left side, larger and still building) was quickly approaching the height of the top of the stairs.

At this point the wave hadn’t broken yet and I was quickly back-peddling, and hoping to get one more photo on my way out…
Turns out, I pressed the button just before the wave crested the railing but with just enough time to duck around the cliff corner and stay dry.
