Ferns appear to be taking over the entrance to this local trail.
Depending on the time of year, the time of day, the light and the weather, even the spots you always travel can have a new look (and a potential for new observations and different images.)
The entrance to this early morning hike on a mostly heavy overcast day looked a bit ominous…but just around the first corner the trail opened up under tall firs and cedars.
