This talented young bike rider found the Vesuvius ferry pier to be a great spot for bike practice. I asked him if he could “illustrate” the sign on the pier. And could he pretend to be tripping or about to crash? With a grin, in a few seconds, he came up with these moves (and many more…)

Technical: 1/1000 sec. at f/5, zoom lens set to 90mm (shutter priority)
Sometimes you have to push your personal limits…this might be a tricky shot. It might be just what you need to see more, and take better photos 🙂
On the camera, I set the shutter speed to 1/1000 of a second so that all motion would be stopped, even a spinning bike. And the lens aperture to f/5 so that just the rider and the area around him would be in focus (some of the pier, and the sign). The background along the shore and the hill above are rendered out of focus and don’t compete with the main subject.
