The not-always-loved BC Ferries vessel Howe Sound Queen on a windy day near “the Crofton side” on her way back to Vesuvius Bay on Salt Spring Island. The venerable single deck ferry was built in Quebec(!) in 1964, had a capacity of 52 cars and was retired in June 2019.
Technical: This image was taken from the Vesuvius dock with a 300mm lens and a 1.4x extension tube (yielding a 420 mm lens). It’s just over 5 km from the Vesuvius terminal to the Crofton side so that’s what was required for this photo.
