Forest

A short photo walk through local woods. ©johncameron.ca

A mid-morning twenty minute walk through one of the forest trails behind our home. At ten o’clock, the sun and shadows were painting some interesting scenes (presented just as I saw them, in the order I walked by them).

In the spirit of leaving things as they were observed, the images have had little to no editing.

Technical: Canon EOS R5 , ISO 1600, 1/80sec, f/6.3, 100-400mm at 141mm (handheld). The images below were also handheld.

Notes: Most of these images could have been photographed with a phone that I always carry, but I was learning more about a high resolution digital camera and the flexibility of a 100mm to 400mm zoom lens…and how the image stabilization of both the camera body and the lens work together in low forest light.

This is also a good exercise to look for similarities and differences in objects in varying textures, colours and lighting. (click the images below to enlarge)
