Apparently this is a perennial, low-lying edible herb though it is also known as a noxious weed in some areas. Kinda pretty.

Note: because the camera lens is “long” but close to the subject, the aperture is set at f/11 to provide enough depth of focus to render both the open flower and the closed flower sharp but leave the background out of focus (to minimize distraction)
