Test

first bird with 800mm lens ©johncameron.ca

A Chestnut-backed Chickadee on a Honey Locust branch, about twenty five feet above our back patio.

This is the first test image from an 800mm telephoto lens. It was shot handheld at the closest focus distance possible of this long lens. The camera located the bird’s eye and held it in focus while I took several shots (at 8 shots per second).

Technical: Canon EOS R5 , ISO 4000, 1/5000 sec, f/11, 800mm zoom lens at 400mm, exposure compensation -0.3 stops handheld
