Here’s a leaf that I almost walked by on a paved road . I initially noticed the colour, then looking closer, noticed that the raindrops were like little magnifying glasses. As I moved the phone camera closer to the leaf, it automatically switched over to ‘macro mode’ and I began to see more and more detail.
Professionally, when photographing small things, I would always use a dedicated macro lens, a high-end tripod and probably a dedicated lighting setup. (but I would have had to move the leaf off the road…and that kind of shoot would probably take at least 40 minutes).
Technical: iPhone 14 Pro Max, ISO 320, 1/8 sec, f/2.2, automatic close-up (showing about 6 or 7 cm of the leaf)
