Sometimes seeing is both observing and adjusting… to get the best image.
Background: Dark morning with fog and light breeze. Closest access to the subject was from a dock on the far side of the habour; only somewhat steady. The unsteadiness was compounded by shooting with a long lens. But is was a nice image looking through the camera’s viewfinder.
Technical: I would need to shoot at high ISO (film speed) to freeze motion from the dock with a long lens. Visible noise would be introduced in the image by the high ISO. Which is fine I think if the grain is sharp.
Adjusting the image by adding a mild sepia tone in processing also added to the timeless nature of the old tug.
