Sometimes things don’t go exactly as planned. We were heading to Port Renfrew along the coast road and decided to to make a short stop north of Shirley. This was a lovely short walk through a mature Coastal forest, along the trail to Sandcut Beach in search of a set of small oceanfront waterfalls. It wasn’t a great weather day; it hadn’t rained lately so the water flow was low, and we were stuck with flat mid-day light. Blech, mostly…
This beach sometimes changes shape (loose rocks) during a high tide storm. So that day there was a little ‘pond’ in front of the only waterfall flowing. Trying to get something interesting, I squeezed between the rock wall and the falling water and took this photo with a wide angle lens.
This would be a place to return to at dawn/dusk after a rainy period.
