This photo was taken from inside looking toward a birdbath. The camera was automatically keeping focus on the eye of the bird preparing for take-off. The lens was zoomed fully to 400mm. The aperture was set to f/11 to help isolate the bird from the background.
Several images were shot including this one with a second bird coming in for a landing. The arriving bird was beyond the depth of focus and the shutter speed was 1/320 second…not fast enough to render the bird sharp. I like the sense of motion this landing bird conveys.
