This is one of two floating aerators. Once delivered to Salt Spring Island, they were helicoptered into place on St. Mary Lake. This photo was taken for the local newspaper, and my goal here was to emphasize the massive size of the aerator.
These young swimmers seem to be enjoying an after-school swim in the newly aerated water at the north end of the lake.
This image was taken from shore with a long lens and a shallow depth of focus to separate the swimmers from the background.
