This acrobatic bird (an adult Chestnut-backed Chickadee) hangs tightly near the end of a branch (bouncing up and down in the light breeze) while having lunch.
My camera has a default resolution of 8192 pixels wide. The images on this website are 2400 pixels wide. This means there is a choice to simply reduce the image resolution (from 8192 to 2400 wide…without cropping), or to crop more tightly in order to ‘zoom in’ on the main subject as was done on the images in this post.
But for printing you always want to use all the pixels in the image for the best technical quality.
