Taken from in a small bridge along the Rithet’s Bog trail in Saanich, a male Mallard in a shady pond keeps a wary eye on the photographer.

This was an optimistic shot that seems to have worked: the ISO (aka film speed) is extremely high at 12800 and the camera lens was balanced on the railing (otherwise it’s not possible to hold the camera steady at less than 1/800 of a second with the 800 mm lens.
